Two cars collided on Saturday evening around a quarter to eleven on the N279 between Middelrode and Heeswijk Dinther. The driver of the rear car fled after the accident, but was still found by agents.
When emergency services arrived, the driver had already fled. For a moment, emergency services thought he had ended up in the adjacent water, but not much later, agents found the man on a slope.
Why the man fled exactly is still unknown. Possibly he was under the influence. The vehicles were removed by a recovery company.
