Carolina Herrera takes part in Dubai Fashion Week as a guest of honor

New York-based brand Carolina Herrera will be the guest of honor at the upcoming Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) in October.

Dubai Fashion Week, which runs from October 8 to 15, was founded by Dubai Design District, a member of TECOM Group PJSC, and the Arab Fashion Council. The event will present the Spring/Summer 2024 collections from over 25 designers from twelve countries, including Michael Cinco, The Giving Movement, Weinsanto, Lama Jouni, Mrs. Keepa, Dima Ayad, Pipatchara and Valentin Yudashkin.

The following day, October 9th, Carolina Herrera will present her Spring/Summer 2024 collection, presented earlier this month in New York, along with exclusive designs made for the occasion. Additionally, an intimate dinner will be held in honor of creative director Wes Gordon, and later this week the designer label will host a trunk show where customers are invited to explore the collection privately.

“We are thrilled to be part of Dubai Fashion Week this season,” Gordon said in a statement from the brand. “We couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to bring our spring-summer collection here all the way from New York and share it with the Dubai fashion community and the Arab Fashion Council. We look forward to staging an unforgettable experience.”

Dubai Fashion Week returns for Spring/Summer 2024 from October 8th to 15th

“Dubai has made a major appearance on the global fashion stage with the launch of Dubai Fashion Week,” added Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group. “The event pushes the boundaries of style and design in the region and brings forward innovative and world-class talent from around the world. Carolina Herrera’s participation in Dubai Fashion Week is a testament to Dubai’s growing importance as a global fashion hub and international influence.”

More than 25 designers will be presented at Dubai Fashion Week SS24

Officially launched this spring with an intimate event, Dubai Fashion Week has evolved from Arab Fashion Week, which entered its 21st edition in October 2022, bringing it in line with the global fashion calendar. This fall, Dubai Fashion Week will feature runway shows, exclusive events, book signings, a trunk show in collaboration with Mall of the Emirates, capsule launches, brand activations and industry talks to cement its status as a global fashion capital.

The seven-day event offers designers from the region the opportunity to meet and do business with international buyers and retailers, and serves as a gateway for international talent and brands as they continue to expand their global presence in the Middle East want.

This season, new talent will also be promoted in collaboration with the Graduate Fashion Foundation, which organizes Graduate Fashion Week. A catwalk show will feature innovative presentations from graduates from more than 30 universities worldwide.

“Dubai Fashion Week is an example of the impressive power of fashion, which has become a global force that unites talent across borders. The Arab Fashion Council has always been committed to catapulting the region’s fashion industry onto the global stage and laying the foundation for a thriving creative economy,” said Jacob Abrian, Executive Director of the Arab Fashion Council.
