An eight-hour carnival livestream with music and skits. About two hundred local artists will participate in the Munttheater in Weert on Saturday.
“We and all artists have not been able to practice our profession for as long. It is so nice that we can fulfill our role for the society of Weert again,” says Munttheater director Colinda Vergouwen.
‘Completely different’
One of the groups that performs is the Boonte Femiêlie Middig. Thijs Mennen explains: “It is of course very different, because we miss the interaction with the audience. But I think the performance came across well in this way.”

The age of the participating artists varies from young to old. “The youngest is two years old,” said Vergouwen. There is no fun chatting for the artists. “It is a coming and going of artists. Because of the corona measures, no one can linger and the artists go home immediately after their performance. But we make the best of it. The carnival heart is starting to beat faster with everyone,” explains the director. of the Munttheater.
