Carlos Sainz wins Formula 1 British GP! – Breaking Motor Sports news

Sainz, who started the race from the pole position on the 5.8 kilometer Silverstone Track in the Northamptonshire region of England, over 52 laps, reached the first stage victory of his career while crossing the finish line in the first place with a time of 2:17:50.311.

Completing the race 3.779 seconds after the leader, the Mexican driver of the Red Bull team, Sergio Perez, came second, while Lewis Hamilton, the Great Britain driver of Mercedes, was 6.225 seconds behind the leader.

On the first lap of the eventful stage, the cars of Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda, Alpine’s Esteban Ocon, Mercedes’ George Russell, Alfa Romeo’s Guanyu Zhou and Williams’ Alexander Albon were involved in the crash. Russell, Albon and Zhou’s cars were out of the race after the crash.

In the statement made by F1, it was stated that all the pilots involved in the accident were in good health, including Zhou, whose car rolled over during the accident and was able to stop by crashing into the stands after crossing the barriers.

Due to the accident in the first lap, the race was restarted after an hour’s break based on the results of the qualifying laps. Even though Red Bull’s Dutch driver Max Verstappen passed Sainz on the 10th lap and took the lead, he could not maintain his rank due to the tire problem of his car and finished the race in 7th place.

Towards the end of the race, when Ocon’s car was stuck on the road, the safety car entered the race once again. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who was the leader in this part of the fight, remained on the track and continued to race on hard rubber tires, unlike other drivers. The Monaco pilot was able to complete the race in fourth place after this choice.

In the drivers’ classification, Verstappen continues to lead with 181 points, his teammate Perez is second with 147 points and Leclerc is third with 138 points.
