The battle for overall victory in the Dakar Rally among the cars seems to have been decided. Frenchman Sébastien Loeb, number 2 in the standings before the penultimate stage, suffered a breakdown after 132 kilometers of the 420 kilometer ride to Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and was delayed for more than an hour. As a result, Spaniard Carlos Sainz seems certain of his fourth overall victory.
