The libertarian internal, which long ago stopped being a murmur to become a roar, added a new high-voltage chapter. Carlos Maslatonthe man who knew how to be the main promoter of Javier Milei before his arrival to the presidency and who today positions himself as one of his fiercest critics from the wing of national liberalism, once again used his X account to dynamite the image of the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni.
In a post full of cynicism and analysis about the “etiquette” of corruption, Maslatón not only took the irregularities in the spokesperson’s assets for granted, but also mocked his inexperience in managing them. “Adorni was not taught in the school of corruption in high public office. They did not teach him how to leave few or no marks once the crime was committed”declared the lawyer.
The Rioja “school” vs. amateurism
For Maslatón, Adorni’s sin is not only the alleged embezzlement, but the ostentation and lack of codes of the political “Sacred Corporation.” In his analysis, he drew a dividing line between the spokesperson and figures he considers “experts” by lineage, such as Martín and “Lule” Menem.
“He had no capacity to understand that, in politics, you cannot be a policeman and a thief at the same time,” Maslatón shot, recalling that Adorni spent years denouncing the political leadership before becoming involved in his own enrichment scandals.
According to the analyst, the Menems have a combination of “Syria with Rioja Peronism that does not fail,” which allows them to manage power and its benefits without the media and judicial scandal that today suffocates the spokesperson. For Maslatón, Adorni made the beginner’s mistake: denouncing others while planning his own financial rise.
A critic with history
This distancing from Maslatón is not new, but it has deepened after Milei’s access to the Sillón de Rivadavia. Whoever was the “luxury leader” of LLA today does not spare qualifiers to denounce what he considers a management riddled with irregularities.
In fact, Maslatón had already been warning about the ethical behavior of the presidential environment. Recently, he was lapidary regarding the Milei brothers’ link with the private sector, ensuring that “Milei and Karina have no limits to work”specifically in relation to the controversial Libra case. For the lawyer, Adorni, along with figures like Spanish or one’s own Karina Mileiis an example of a “dangerous amateurism” that, sooner or later, will end with someone “trapped” by justice.
