VVV-Venlo appoints Uneken as head coach
2.05 pm: VVV-Venlo has appointed Peter Uneken as new head coach. The 53-year-old coach is the successor of the recently left John Lammers at the club from the Kitchen Champion Division. UNEKEN signed a contract until the end of the season.
“I see this as a very nice challenge,” Uneken said on the site of his new club. “VVV is a beautiful club with an authentic stadium and a nice atmosphere. I would like to be part of that. The conversations with the management have made me very enthusiastic and I am really looking forward to starting.”
UNEKEN worked at various clubs as a youth coach and assistant trainer and was head coach of Jong PSV between 2019 and 2021. In recent seasons, he was active as an assistant to Joseph Oosting at RKC Waalwijk and FC Twente. After the recent resignation of Oosting, Uneken also had to leave from Enschede.
Carlos Alcaraz in three sets to final Tokyo
1.40 pm: Carlos Alcaraz has reached the final of the Tokyo tennis tournament. The number 1 in the world from Spain beat the Noor Casper Ruud in three sets: 3-6 6-3 6-4.
Alcaraz (22) has reached the final since mid -March in every tournament that he played.
