Carlo Boszhard lashes out at presenters Op1: ‘No balls!’

Carlo Boszhard lashes out at the presenters of the talk show Op1. He thinks it is absolutely not surprising that viewers give up at some point. “It has no balls.”

According to Carlo Boszhard, it is a missed opportunity that Op1 has become such a script TV. He prefers to watch a show like Today Inside, where almost nothing is predetermined. “Just four people at a table discussing without a clamp on their mouths is golden. That gives such a program balls. A program like Op1 lacks that.”

Autocue TV

His beloved Herald Adolfs says in their duo interview with the VARAgids: “I don’t know. In Op1, current events are discussed and it is not necessarily the intention that the presenters always give their opinion.”

Carlo again: “What I object is that everything is written out on autocue. Then I can hear the editors ringing in the intro to the conversation. Then the conversation comes and they go through their questionnaire very hard, while often no side roads are taken.”

‘Viewer feels that’

The makers of Op1 still have a lot to gain, says Carlo. “The more you tighten things up, the less playful. The viewer feels that and eventually drops out.”

Which NPO talk show does he like? “I have to laugh a lot at Marcel van Roosmalen in Media Inside. Together with that drawl-talking anti-presenter Gijs Groenteman they put on a very nice program. Fun, authentic and out of the box.”

uncritical

Carlo is not alone in his criticism of Op1. Telegraaf journalist Kitty Herweijer is annoyed by the ‘boring library atmosphere‘ to the program. “Politicians meanwhile, with a few exceptions (Sven Kockelmann on a good day), have little to fear at the current talk show table.”

She continues: “Every evening it is hoped that there will be a Huub Stapel at the table, at least politicians have nothing to fear from the presenters.”
