Carlo Boszhard also fears GTST: ‘More room for quizzes?’

Like Victor Vlam, Carlo Boszhard wonders what the ratings of the RTL 4 summer quizzes will mean for Good Times Bad Times. “It’s exciting what’s going to happen.”

The makers of Good Times Bad Times get a red face every year when the summer break starts. The summer replacement Ik Weet Er Alles Van with presenter Ruben Nicolai scores better in the low season than the expensive soap series in the high season. You would then expect him to be promoted.

Carlo fears GTST

The GTST summer break will last extra long this year and that is why RTL 4 has arranged not one, but two replacements. In August another quiz will be shown at eight o’clock, namely Where Is It About with Tijl Beckand. If this is also a success, then the soap stars should start to worry, according to media connoisseur Victor Vlam.

RTL 4 prominent Carlo Boszhard, who is in close contact with channel boss Peter van der Vorst, thinks the same. “I think it’s exciting what will happen, because if this also scores very well, what will RTL do then?” talk show table Renze Klamer.

A miracle

Carlo finds it very strange that Ruben’s cheap quiz scores so much better than the very expensive GTST. “That’s actually a miracle. If you have Good Times Bad Times that seems like a pretty expensive program. Then you now have a quiz where you take four or five of them in a day and that scores higher than GTST.”

He continues: “I am a big fan of GTST, I hope it stays for a long time and every time I hear Peter van der Vorst speak, he also says: ‘It stays’, because it is viewed very well on Videoland. GTST in itself remains, because it is always very well checked.”

More quizzes?

The question is: if GTST stays, where? Can the soap series be maintained at the eight o’clock slot or will the whole thing disappear exclusively to Videoland and will it become the crowd puller there?

Carlo wonders very much what will happen with eight hours of RTL 4: “Are they going to broadcast more quizzes like this and what does it mean for GTST? I find that quite interesting.”
