Career switch for Telstar player Sebbe Augustijns: Belgian stops playing football immediately

In the middle of the season, Sebbe Augustijns stops playing professional football. The 24-year-old Belgian footballer from Telstar opts for a career change and goes to work in his in-laws’ company.

Augustijns’ management confirms that he will immediately hang up his football boots. The main reason was that Augustijns had lost the fun in the game. The distance between his native Belgium and Velsen-Zuid also did not help. His agent says that it was not Telstar’s fault and that the club contributed to the footballer’s decision.

Augustijns came over on a free transfer from RKC Waalwijk last summer. The Belgian midfielder was a permanent fixture in coach Mike Snoei’s team. He played twenty matches for Telstar and missed only one match due to a suspension.

Guinari

Defender Peter Guinari appears to be Telstar’s newest addition. Last summer the club was already working on bringing the Central African Republic international to Velsen-Zuid, but now the paperwork appears to have been completed. Guinari has played in Germany in recent years for clubs such as FC Pipinsried and 1860 Munich II. His last club was FC Wiltz 71 from Luxembourg. In the preparation, Guinari already participated in several practice matches with Telstar.

Telstar resumes the competition on Friday, January 12 with a home match against Jong AZ.
