A caravan behind a car caught fire while driving this afternoon. This happened at the T-junction of Schansweg and Europaweg near Coevorden.
The caravan was able to be disconnected in time, allowing the car to escape the fire. The fire caused large clouds of black smoke.
The fire brigade extinguished the fire, but could not save the caravan. The road is closed due to recovery work. It is not known how the fire started.
