The Minister for Business and Made in Italy says that the benefits will also be available for commercial vehicles. Federauto urges Mase to provide the ecobonus from the previous round reserved for electric cars
Other incentives are on the way for the purchase of new cars but also commercial vehicles. This is the message that the Minister for Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso launches in front of an audience of car dealers, gathered in Milan under the acronym of Federauto. “To stimulate demand we envisage targeted measures including the reintroduction of incentives for vehicles, including commercial ones, in order to facilitate the renewal of the fleet in circulation and support the recovery of the market – says Urso -. We are going through an epochal situation for many reasons of a geopolitical, industrial and technological nature which impacts on the automotive sector. Last year registrations fell per car (1.525 million, a decrease of 2.1%, ed) and commercial vehicles (189 thousand, -4.9%, ed) recording a significant contraction for the Italian production chain. However, the still growing trend of second-hand sales (3.221 million changes of ownership in 2025 with a growth of 2.1%, ed) denotes how in reality the market is asking for products, but evidently the offer does not meet the real purchasing power of families”, said Minister Urso.

Until June 30th, the incentive program for the purchase of electric cars is still officially underway with a 597 million euro fund financed with money from the Pnrr. The incentive reached up to 11 thousand euros per capita. The availability was fully booked within a few hours. In the following weeks, a percentage of applications, around 50 thousand, were rejected and some availability returned to the fund. However, in fact the almost 600 million went away immediately. However, this does not mean that everything went smoothly. Indeed, even today there are problems in the disbursement of contributions by the Ministry for Environmental Safety (Mase) which managed this round of Ecobonus. “At this moment – recalled the president of Federauto Massimo Artusi – it is appropriate to remember that many dealers are waiting for the liquidation of the Mase ecobonus, with which we are communicating at all levels, we are raising awareness and urging but it is the manufacturers that I ask for help by giving concrete support to exposed colleagues through dedicated financial support which is not onerous and which does not affect their margins because in the current projections the annual ones are already below 1%”.
