Two cars burned out on Hannie Schaftlaan in Rijen on Friday evening. One of the cars broke down on the side of the road when the other car rear-ended. After the collision, the cars caught fire.
Miraculously, the drivers of the cars were not injured in the accident. The rear car was the first to catch fire after the collision. The impact caused the front car to hit a tree next to the road and also caught fire after the collision.
The fire brigade extinguished the fire, but could not prevent both cars from being damaged by the fire. The police have closed the Rijen ring road to traffic. An alcohol and drug test was carried out on one of the drivers, but the results are not yet known.
