In Meppel, a motorist was injured tonight in an accident on Steenwijkerstraatweg. No other traffic was involved in the accident.
The driver lost control of the wheel, hit a lamppost and eventually came to a halt against a tree. The victim was taken out of the car by the fire brigade and the ambulance personnel and taken to the hospital.
The road is closed for traffic for some time. The police are investigating how the accident could happen.
