The American fashion group Capri Holdings Limited has appointed Philippa Newman as Chief Brand and Product Officer. In her new role, which she takes on with immediate effect, Newman will be responsible for all the company’s product and marketing functions, the group said on Friday. She reports directly to John Idol, Chairman and CEO by Capri Holdings and Michael Kors.
With this transportation, Capri Holdings relies on an experienced manager from his own ranks. Newman has been working for the Michael Kors brand belonging to the group for 16 years and most recently had the position of the Chief Product Officer – a role in which she already reported directly to Idol. In her new function, she will concentrate on developing a convincing and consistent brand strategy that preserves Michael Kors’ legacy. It is intended to ensure that the brand continues to create exciting fashion and core products with high customer attractiveness and strengthens consumer binding across all channels.
“Ms. Newman is an extraordinary leader with extensive brand expertise and a strategic way of thinking, ”explained John D. Idol. “By bundling product and marketing under a uniform line, we create stronger synergies within our business. This enables a clear and consistent brand vision and strengthens our ability to connect with consumers worldwide. “
This strategic realignment underlines Michael Kors’ commitment to the further development of the brand, deepening customer loyalty and promoting product innovations. The aim is to optimally position the company in the long term for the future.
The appointment is made only a few days after Capri Holdings announced a quarterly loss of $ 547 million.
