Cannes lacks luster in a disappointing year: the film festival needs Hollywood more than ever

The 79th Cannes Film Festival comes to an end with the presentation of the Palme d’Or on Saturday evening. In a year full of top titles, in which cinemas are showing good numbers for the first time since the pandemic, it was all a bit disappointing in Cannes. If even Trump doesn’t say a word about a film festival full of haters of the president, maybe they should start to worry.
