His reckless driving behavior led to away pedestrians and angry cyclists. But behind that so -called anti -social driving style school also a lot of fear. It is not for nothing that Can Standard had a set of clean T-shirts in the car. He participated in the preliminary rounds of The worst driver in the Netherlands and was selected.
No king in traffic
Because of his job Can Can needed a driver’s license, so he took driving lessons seven years ago. During his lessons he suffered from panic attacks and sweating. That was because as a child he experienced a near accident fifteen years ago. “I was in the car with my father, he was sleepy and his eyes always fell away. Suddenly we almost collided with a truck. I was shocked that I have been very scared in the car since then.” After dozens of lessons and three times exam, including a failure anxiety exam, Can, Can gained his driver’s license in five years.
Panicky
After each car ride, Can Can put on a clean t-shirt because of the fear sweat. In the event of fatigue, he lacked focus, so he pulled out the most dangerous antics behind the wheel. “My mate decided to give me up for the television program. I didn’t dare, but he made me over to participate. After a test drive, the conclusion was that I drive too panicked, so I was allowed to participate in the new season.”

In the new season you can not only see Can as a dangerous motorist, but also how he gets help from a coach. The purpose of the program is to re -educate the participants and teach them a safe driving style. Every Friday he received a new assignment in a different place. He went to the course blindfolded and once there the blindfold in the car was allowed to finish. “In the program I learned to drive quieter, better and safer. I can now handle stress well and my fear of parking by the water is gone.”
Mustache
The fourteenth season of The worst driver in the Netherlands consists of eight episodes. A participant drops out every week. He can’t tell anything about the course of his participation in the program. He does reveal that he made a bet with presenter John Williams, whom he eventually lost. “Because of this my mustache had to be done,” says Can. Furthermore, viewers see a lot of funny moments, he promises.
Two circles extra
Can has kept more self -confidence and daring to the program. “For example, I recently drove to Belgium without any problems. But I still can’t park. I prefer to drive two extra laps for a place with more space. As a result, I am often too late on my appointment.”
