Cameras in the changing room at TuS Metzingen – “by a person of trust”

Shocking find at a Bundesliga handball team: TuS Metzingen players were apparently filmed in the changing room. Now the police are investigating. It is not the first find of this kind.

Bundesliga handball players from TuS Metzingen discovered two hidden cameras in their changing room earlier this week. After the club had informed the police, a person from the immediate vicinity of the team was identified who is now under strong suspicion. The Metzinger announced this on Thursday. The cooperation with this person was immediately terminated.

“This disgusting act – also by a direct person of trust – is just shocking and has affected us all very much,” said manager Ferenc Rott. He was “impressed” by the solidarity of the players and their joint decision to play the game against SG BBM Bietigheim. TuS lost this on Wednesday at 20:32 (13:20).

“Strong signal” from the team

“We won’t let something like that get us down – and the fact that the team wants to play handball again immediately is a very strong signal,” Rott continued. “During these difficult times, we received a lot of support from the police, the association and other teams. That helps, of course, and we are grateful for that.”

The Handball Bundesliga Women (HBF) reacted “shocked” and assured TuS “full support”. “We condemn this reprehensible act in the strongest possible terms,” it said in a statement on Thursday. “Such a criminal act contradicts all the values that we as HBF represent together with our clubs.”
