Cactus festival kicked off under a radiant sun

Under a radiant sun and in tropical temperatures, the Cactus Festival in Bruges will start this afternoon. The festival doors opened at 3 pm and the first artist, the Japanese-Belgian duo Aili, started at 5.20 pm. Later in the evening Goldband, Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul, Goose and Arsenal also play.

“Ideal festival weather”

Cactus Festival has a solid line-up this year, which also translated into good ticket sales. “We have never seen festival days sold out so early in advance,” says organizer Patrick Keersebilck. “All multi-day tickets and also day tickets for Saturday and Sunday are sold out. There are still tickets for Sunday.”
According to the organizer, the predicted tropical temperatures are “ideal festival weather”. “There are taps on the site for those who want water and there are plenty of shady spots. We are of course not located directly inland, so I think the temperatures will be bearable on Friday, but we are prepared for everything,” says Keersebilck. “Anyone who is bothered by the heat can turn to the Red Cross.”

Tamino shuts down Cactus

The organization expects about 30,000 visitors to the Bruges Minnewaterpark over the entire weekend. The Vaccines, Merol and Portland, among others, will be on stage on Saturday. On Sunday, Tsar B and Kurt Vile will be reviewed. Tamino closes the festival on Sunday evening.
