BVB time as a reminder? Guardiola sends Haaland supervisors to the national team

Ten appearances, 14 goals: After moving from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City, Erling Haaland left no doubt that he wanted to surpass his outstanding BVB quota on the island again. However, a look at Haaland’s time in the Ruhr area should also have persuaded ManCity team manager Pep Guardiola to take a step that is currently making headlines.

During Haaland’s stay with the Norwegian national team, a physiotherapist specially assigned by Manchester City keeps an eye on the super striker’s work.

Manchester City’s Mario Pafundi is also said to be part of the Norwegian squad’s medical department in the future. Norway coach Stale Solbakken is said to have confirmed this.

Pafundi is “not just because of Erling [Haaland, d.Red.]but present for all”, but came across his attacker’s recommendation to the team, quoted “Verden’s walk” Solbakken. “He’s probably happy that we brought his man from City and now have someone who knows his body well,” continued the former 1. FC Köln coach.

Haaland’s BVB time serves as a reminder

Nobody in Manchester should doubt that the supposed Haaland extra sausage makes sense. Haaland’s last season at BVB should serve as a reminder. The 22-year-old shone with 29 goals in 30 competitive games, but missed a whopping 16 games for black and yellow due to a few injuries.

At the Etihad Stadium, Haaland is therefore treated with conspicuous caution. If it became apparent that the Cityzens had the game firmly under control, Guardiola made several substitutions for Haaland. In the Norwegian national team, however, the goal-getter is rarely dispensed with.

As part of Nations League B, Norge will be visiting Slovenia on September 24th and Serbia on September 27th. The Northern Europeans missed the World Cup in Qatar.
