BVB talent Jayden Braaf before leaving – listlessness and lack of discipline

Came in from Man City in the summer

Jayden Braaf moved from Manchester City’s U21s to Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer last summer and signed a contract until 2025. The 20-year-old center forward should be carefully built up through the second substitution of the black and yellow. The project apparently failed with a bang, although sports director Sebastian Kehl was sure in May 2022 that he had brought a “great talent on board”. The signs are according to the “Ruhr News” and des “foosball” therefore early farewell.

Braaf gave a tantalizingly listless impression at the BVB U23 training camp in Belek, Turkey, and completed the training sessions with little enthusiasm or will. It is fitting that the Dutch junior national player has not been able to use his potential in the past few weeks and months and has therefore not been able to meet expectations. A lack of discipline off the field would also play a role, and there was no alternative to saying goodbye in the near future. “His development has not been satisfactory so far. I hope that will change,” said Ingo Preuss (quoted via “RN”), sports director of the U23, early December.

The player side and the club are looking at the market for suitable options, it is said. Several interested parties would have the attacker on the slip. Braaf, who was recently considered with the second market value minus in a row, only played seven times in a total of 265 minutes in the 3rd division for Dortmund’s youngsters – without being involved in a goal.

A buyer could apparently be found in Italy. For example, Hellas Verona and Udinese Calcio are said to be on the disgraced Braaf. The youngster was already active on loan at Udinese between February and June 2021, where he scored one goal in four Serie A games. Before his time at Man City, the right-footer was trained, among other things, in the youth teams of PSV and Ajax.
