The rumor mill has been bubbling around Serhou Guirassy and a possible departure from Dortmund for weeks. Most recently, the BVB star was repeatedly linked to Fenerbahce Istanbul, and there was even talk of an agreement. The attacker’s advisor now comments on these rumors.
In an interview with “Sky”, Karamba Guirassy, the brother and advisor of storm ace Serhou Guirassy, took a clear stance. “No agreement has been reached. Serhou is currently examining his options for the coming season. Claims about an agreement are not true,” was the clear statement to the pay-TV channel.
For some time now, Turkish media in particular have been firmly convinced that Guirassy’s move was imminent. However, BVB bosses have repeatedly emphasized that they do not want to give up the striker.
“We have no intention of giving him up either. He has impressively demonstrated his value for Borussia Dortmund in the last two seasons,” explained sports director Lars Ricken recently to the “WAZ”.
What does Guirassy want?
In addition to the lack of agreement, the statement from the Guirassy side makes another fact clear. Guirassy is obviously considering leaving Dortmund.
The attacker still has one year left on his contract there; he signed a three-year contract with the black and yellow in 2024. He played 96 competitive games for BVB over the two years, scoring 60 goals and preparing 15 more.
Despite this outstanding rate, there was also criticism of the offensive man over the course of last season, who only scored once in twelve Bundesliga games, but was particularly noticeable with his negative body language. However, over the course of the second half of the season, Guirassy stabilized again.
