BVB shock! Dortmund star is at risk of being out for a much longer period of time

He has been out for almost three months and has been out since November due to ongoing hip problems. It has now been revealed that Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha could be out for much longer.

According to a recent “Bild” report, the midfielder could even face an operation if his hip problems do not improve.

Nmecha has been suffering from the hip injury since November and has been complaining about severe pain ever since. Since conservative treatment methods have not yet brought the hoped-for success or relief, an operation could now be necessary.

“Felix’s injury is in a bad place. That’s why we have to take it day by day,” Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic said in January. Since then, nothing has really improved for the 23-year-old, who moved from VfL Wolfsburg to the black and yellow in the summer of 2023.

Felix Nmecha is currently only doing light jogging sessions. Participating in team training, let alone playing football under competitive conditions, is currently out of the question.

BVB: No more Bundesliga games for Nmecha since mid-November

Felix Nmecha came to Dortmund last year with great expectations and was supposed to replace none other than superstar Jude Bellingham, who was known to have moved to Real Madrid.

So far, the Hamburg native’s first season with Westphalia has been extremely disappointing. In 15 competitive games in the Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Cup, Nmecha only scored one goal and also repeatedly showed inconsistent performances.

He hasn’t played a Bundesliga game at all since November 11th, as the one-time German senior international’s hip problems became too severe from then on.
