Borussia Dortmund is looking for a successor to Julian Brandt. Apparently the BVB squad planners are looking at the Italian Serie A.
BVB is looking at signing Roma star Matías Soulé, transfer reporter Ekrem Konur reports on
The 23-year-old Argentine joined AS Roma two years ago. At least 28.6 million euros are said to have flowed to Juventus Turin at the time. As a 16-year-old, Soulé once moved to Juve’s youth team, but he was denied his big breakthrough in Piedmont; it was only a successful loan to Frosinone in the 2023/24 season that opened new doors.
The right winger is under contract in the Italian capital until 2029. In 81 competitive games for the Giallorossi so far, he has contributed twelve goals and 13 assists. With six goals and five assists in the past season, he was his team’s second-best scorer behind attacker Donyell Malen.
Soulé has already been in the focus of BVB
Nevertheless, according to transfer reporter Konur, Roma should definitely consider giving up the 1.83 meter tall offensive player. Soulé, who is not in Argentina’s World Cup squad, is not actively being offered for sale. However, it is not considered indispensable either. If suitable offers come in, they will definitely be examined.
Borussia Dortmund is not the only club that is looking into signing Matías Soulé. There is also interest from the English Premier League. Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are said to have held initial discussions.
Interesting: BVB had already been linked to Soulé a year ago, and at that time VfB Stuttgart was also said to be interested. The transfer fee was 30 million euros.
