BVB: Donyell Malen is planning a lightning exit

Borussia Dortmund and offensive player Donyell Malen could go their separate ways in the upcoming winter transfer period. The Dutchman, who was traded to FC Bayern some time ago, reportedly wants to leave the club and BVB is said to be willing to talk.

According to information from “Sky”, the Black and Yellows are demanding at least a transfer fee of 30 million euros for painting. They transferred exactly this amount to his former club PSV Eindhoven for the 24-year-old in the summer of 2021.

For the top Dutch club, Malen had 79 goals (55 goals, 24 assists) in 116 competitive games. BVB has so far had 40 scorer points (24 goals, 16 assists) in 91 appearances across all competitions.

According to the report, Malen is still estranged from his Dortmund teammates even after around a year and a half. He is also said to be dissatisfied that coach Edin Terzic mostly deploys him on the unpopular right offensive wing instead of centrally or on the left.

Malen’s contract, which runs until 2026, should not stand in the way of a possible departure, it is said.

The change in his management also indicates a change in the air. Malen is no longer advised by Mino Raiola’s successor Rafaela Pimenta, but by the Dutch agency SEG.

BVB: Donyell Malen also traded at FC Bayern

There are no specific interested parties for the 28-time Elftal international player yet. In the autumn, however, he was linked to Liverpool FC and – listen and be amazed – FC Bayern.

However, “Sport Bild” reported at the time that BVB’s pain threshold was a whopping 60 million euros.

Managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke did not rule out new additions in the winter in an interview with the “Ruhr Nachrichten”.

BVB is faced with the question of whether there are “sensible options that are economically feasible” in the winter transfer period, he said.

Although transfers are “not absolutely necessary”, sports director Sebastian Kehl will “certainly come up with one or two suggestions if he is convinced by someone. If that is the case, we would talk about it.”
