BVB deal soon through? RB Salzburg presents Adeyemi successor

Is he coming or not coming to BVB? Personal Karim Adeyemi has kept Borussia Dortmund supporters in suspense for months. The German national player is considered the hottest contender to succeed striker Erling Haaland in the black and yellow. However, the move has still not been reported as perfect. That could change in the near future.

Adeyemi’s current club RB Salzburg have found a replacement for the youngster, who is the top goal-getter in the Austrian Bundesliga this season.

The Austrians announced the transfer of Fernando on Thursday. The 23-year-old was last under contract with the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, who have not played a single game for months due to the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine.

“We are very happy that we were able to win an absolute dream player for us. Fernando fits perfectly with our philosophy!”, said RB sporting director Christoph Freund.

Fernando himself emphasized: “The last few months have not been easy for me, so I’m all the more excited to be able to attack here. In discussions with the sporting director and coach, I felt that they really wanted me here.”

Fernando has played for the 13-time Ukrainian champions for five years and was loaned out to the Portuguese capital club Sporting.

BVB is pushing for Adeyemi transfer

According to Fabrizio Romano, BVB is pushing to finally finalize the deal with Adeyemi. Most recently, negotiations between the two clubs are said to have stalled again.

Fernando is a former Brazil youth international and has scored five goals in seven league games before being suspended in Ukraine.
