BVB could allegedly give up eleven players

The current season is going extremely unevenly for Borussia Dortmund. BVB is facing a major upheaval in the summer. Up to eleven players could allegedly leave the Revierklub.

DFB Cup, Champions and Europa League? Eliminated! Bundesliga? Hopeless behind FC Bayern! Borussia Dortmund will most likely go without a title this season. Consequently, BVB can already start planning for the coming season.

A lot of work awaits Sebastian Kehl, who takes over the post of sporting director from Michael Zorc. After all, the black and yellow would apparently give up some of their stars. “Sport Bild” reported on Wednesday that numerous big names should be on BVB’s cross-off list. Now “Bild” follows up again.

As a result, BVB could let a whole eleven go in the summer. Axel Witsel, Roman Bürki and Nico Schulz should definitely be given up. The trio only plays a supporting role in sport, but each earns a hefty salary.

Reinier also has no prospects at Borussia Dortmund. The attacking midfielder has been on loan from Real Madrid for almost two years. However, the Brazilian was never able to assert himself in the Bundesliga. After the season, the misunderstanding ends. Central defender Marin Pongracic is also only on loan and will initially return to VfL Wolfsburg.

Zagadou extension at BVB is probably shaking

BVB has to make a difficult decision with Dan-Axel Zagadou. The Frenchman’s contract ends in the summer. Since the 22-year-old is extremely prone to injury, according to “Bild” a possible extension is shaky.

The tabloid names Marius Wolf, Emre Can, Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt (all contract until 2024) and Manuel Akanji (2023) as other candidates for a farewell. The latter is associated with a move to Manchester United. Accordingly, the Red Devils should offer an annual salary of 15 million euros.
