National player Marco Reus has suffered another setback in the current international phase. The 33-year-old Borussia Dortmund captain suffered a torn muscle in his right thigh while preparing for the Nations League games against Hungary in Budapest on Saturday and against Italy in Mönchengladbach on Tuesday. This was announced by the German Football Association on Wednesday evening.
Reus only traveled to the DFB quarter in Herzogenaurach on Saturday because of an infection. Reus therefore missed the games in Bologna against European champions Italy and on Tuesday in Munich against England (each 1-1). The DFB did not provide any information about the downtime on Wednesday, the offensive player would “stay with the team for further treatment”.
