Buyer found: Hazard farewell is imminent

At BVB, there are signs of a last-minute farewell shortly before the end of the winter changeover period: all-rounder Thorgan Hazard, who was dropped from the match day squad twice in a row by coach Edin Terzic, is, according to media reports, negotiating a transfer to the Dutch Eredivisie.

Borussia Dortmund is expected to part ways with Thorgan Hazard. The Belgian international is not in the Black and Yellow squad for the trend-setting Bundesliga game at Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday (5:30 p.m.).

A farewell to the 29-year-old by the deadline day on Tuesday is becoming more and more concrete, and a possible buyer has now been found.

As reported by “Voetbal International” from the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven has approached Hazard and talks about a change are said to be ongoing and promising. The Europa League participants go “into the full,” they say.

Hazard’s working paper at BVB is valid until 2024, but both sides should have been thinking about a separation for some time. In the team’s internal hierarchy, the winger had fallen in recent months.

Thorgan Hazard was recently left out at BVB

In 2019, Dortmund spent around 25 million euros to free Hazard from Borussia Mönchengladbach. However, an appealing debut season was followed by two and a half years filled with injuries and poor form.

Originally, the English Premier League and the Italian Serie A were considered the preferred destinations of the World Cup participants, but PSV Eindhoven also seems to have good arguments on their side.

In winter, the Dutch sold their top attackers Cody Gakpo (Liverpool FC) and Noni Madueke (Chelsea FC) for a total of almost 80 million euros.

Desired player Hazard should now help to compensate for the two departures.
