According to France Bleu, the bus fell six meters around 8:45 am. Images from the local newspaper ‘Dauphiné Libéré’ show how the vehicle went off the road and ended up in the ravine. There were a total of 46 people on the bus. 40 of them are primary school children, between 6 and 10 years old.

The bus had left this morning from the Alps, where the group had stayed for a week. The occupants themselves come from Sceaux (Hauts-de-Seine). The intention was to drive to Grenoble station, where they would then take the train to Paris.

According to some French media, the driver became unwell and lost control of the wheel. Ninety firefighters and a Civil Protection helicopter have arrived on the scene. The students who escaped unscathed will be accommodated in a gymnasium for the time being. Traffic on the road was interrupted.
