At Festival Decibel, several coach drivers were fined by the police on Saturday because they did not comply with the rules. Among other things, the agents came across a driver who drove under the influence of drugs and a driver who was behind the wheel without a driver’s license. A total of thirteen fines were handed out.
Two drivers were caught driving without the right tachograph, the device that registers the driving and rest times, the speed and the distance traveled. A driver turned out not to have grabbed enough rest.
Two drivers also used the driver’s card of another and there was no more compulsory certificate of code 95 at another driver. That is proof that a driver is skilled.
Technical defects
In addition to the papers, the coaches also turned out not to be all right. For example, safety features such as an emergency hammer were missing, an emergency window did not meet the requirements and some buses with broken or missing lighting rode.
Three drivers came off with a warning. Two for not being able to show a medical statement. And the driver of a disco bus received a warning because the windows of the bus were not blinded, which made party lighting shone outside.
