Bus companies can no longer find drivers

In West Flanders alone they are looking for 150 drivers, almost 2000 throughout the country. The federation is looking for solutions, but says that they are not immediately obvious.

At Demuynck and Vansteelandt in Bellegem, 7 buses are for sale because they can no longer find drivers. They are about a dozen short. Bus driver is a bottleneck profession, but the crisis has never been so great. And the corona crisis has a lot to do with that, when we were no longer allowed to travel.

In the meantime, the federation is looking for ways to attract drivers, with recruitment campaigns and an online platform on which candidates can register. But they also realize that a solution to the problem is not immediately obvious.
