Arson in the Vivantes Klinikum Neukölln! An apparently mentally disturbed man (27) set fire to a patient’s bed in the hospital foyer on Wednesday.

The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. in a four-story station building. The fire brigade had moved in with 50 emergency services. A fire department spokesman for the BZ: “Several patients and employees had to be evacuated because of the heavy smoke.” The bed was fortunately empty.

According to the spokesman, it was possible to prevent it from spreading to other areas and the fire was extinguished after a short time. All evacuated people were taken to safe areas of the hospital. The fire department then evacuated the building.

On the edge of the extinguishing work, a man was noticed who was talking nonsense. He is said to have said, among other things, that he would also set himself on fire. The police arrested him.
