At the European Weightlifting Championship held in Bulgaria, Burcu Alici won the bronze medal in the women’s 55 kilo category with her 85 kilo snatch category.
In the evening session of the second day of the championship held in the capital Sofia, Burcu Alternatif took to the podium in the women’s 55 kilo category.
In the championship, one of the crescent-star female athletes, Burcu Alici, won the bronze medal in the snatch with a class of 85 kilograms.
In the snatch, Anette Sol Waaler from Norway came first with her lift of 86 kilos, and Yulia Hulina, who participated as an individual (with refugee status, independent of her country), came second with her lift of 85 kilos.
Although Burcu Ali lifted the same weight, the independent athlete came in second because Yulia was the first to lift 85 kilos.
Thus, national weightlifters won a total of 8 medals in the championship: 4 gold, 3 silver and one bronze.
