Bundesliga team of the day: Bayer-Leverkusen pros dominate after Union victory

Determined by the TM community

Bayer Leverkusen players dominate the top eleven of the 13th Bundesliga matchday determined by the Transfermarkt community. After the convincing 5-0 win on Sunday against the previous leaders Union Berlin, four “Werkself” pros made it into the selection. Coach Xabi Alonso was also rewarded. The standout man on the pitch was Moussa Diaby with a brace – his first of the season. His teammates Robert Andrich, Mitchel Bakker, both of whom also scored, and Jeremie Frimpong were included. It was the third nomination this season for Frimpong, which puts him at the top of the internal team ranking.

In addition to the Leverkusen players, footballers from four other clubs are represented. Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt each have a duo. Mats Hummels and Niklas Süle from BVB are used on the defensive, the “Red Bulls” Dani Olmo and Christopher Nkunku on the offensive and Sebastian Rode in central midfield, whose team-mate Kevin Trapp guards the goal. The team is completed by Werder Bremen’s two-time assist in the 2-1 win over Schalke 04 Mitchell Weiser.
