Bundesliga starts with RB Leipzig against FC Bayern in the second half of the season

The Bundesliga starts into 2023 after the World Cup and winter break with the top match between DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig and champions FC Bayern Munich out, which the German Football League (DFL) published on Friday.

The start of the 16th match day will be broadcast on January 20 (8:30 p.m.) by “Sat.1” and “DAZN”, as the German Football League announced on Friday. The Borussia duel between Mönchengladbach and Dortmund on the 15th and thus last matchday before the World Cup in Qatar runs on the streaming service “DAZN” and on free TV on “Sat.1”. The game will take place on Friday, November 11 (8:30 p.m.). On the 15th match day there is also the Saturday evening game (November 12) between promoted Schalke 04 and Bayern, Round 16 concludes Gladbach and Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday, January 12 at 5.30 p.m. in the local derby.

The 2nd Bundesliga was meanwhile terminated until the World Cup break. On the twelfth matchday on Friday evening at the Millerntor there will be a Hamburg city derby between FC St. Pauli and HSV (October 14, 6.30 p.m.). The southwest derby between 1.FC Kaiserslautern and Karlsruher SC takes place in the English Week at the beginning of November on Tuesday, 8th at 6:30 p.m.
