FC St. Pauli practically managed to remain the class at Eintracht Frankfurt and gave the Hesse a final in the race for a Champions League starting area. The Eintracht did not get over a 2-2 (1: 2) against the Kiezkicker on the 33rd matchday of the Bundesliga and has to worry about the premier class.
Rasmus Kristensen put the Frankfurters in the lead after only 23 seconds. In the initial phase, however, St. Pauli made the game through the goals of Manoli’s Saliacas (4th minute) and Morgan Guilavogui (16.). Eintracht no longer succeeded in more than the 2: 2 by the substitute Michy Bathshuayi (71st).
The St. Pauli cushion on the relegation place is three points before the season finale, but the Hamburgers have the 13 goals better goal difference compared to the table-16. 1. “Everything is done,” Frankfurt’s coach Dino Toppmöller had optimistic before the last home game of this season. An atmospheric backdrop with 58,000 spectators and early summer weather ensured an actually perfect setting to qualify for the European premier class.
And from the point of view of Eintracht, it got even better: the home side took a dream start and took the lead after only a few seconds through Kristensen. But the guests were unimpressed. With a soulful lifter, Saliacas ensured the quick balance in an initial phase.
