RB Leipzig is sending a quiet signal before kick-off this weekend.
RB Leipzig has announced that it will remember the victims of Monday’s rampage with a mourning ribbon and a minute’s silence. This applies to all games of the professional teams and the U19 team at the weekend.
As the club announced, the mourning ribbon is a sign of remembrance and solidarity with the victims, their families and all those affected. The club wrote: “RB Leipzig is sending a common, silent signal of sympathy and cohesion in our city.”
The perpetrator drove his car onto Grimmaische Straße on Monday. The street is one of the city’s central shopping streets. He hit several people in the pedestrian zone. Two died and six were injured, some seriously. The driver then brought the car to a stop himself and allowed himself to be arrested without resistance.
