Already in the coming week the pilot project with referee announcements in the stadium will apparently be launched in German football after the video assistant intervened. This reports the magazine “Kicker“.
However, there are not yet the technical prerequisites in all stages that the announcements of the referees can be transferred to the speakers via their radio headsets. Therefore, it could first be tested in some arenas in the Bundesliga and 2nd league. The German Football Association invited to a press conference on Monday and wants to provide further information.
A test phase is already in Portugal. At the women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, too, after a video evidence, the game managers had made an announcement to the audience via the microphone-as is also common in ice hockey, for example.
