For a long time there was speculation about a possible change, now it seems certain: Hoffenheim’s international David Raum should play for the cup winners RB Leipzig in the future.

According to reports, nothing stands in the way of national soccer player David Raum moving from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to RB Leipzig. As the magazine “Kicker” and the TV broadcaster Sky reported on Friday, the two Bundesliga rivals are said to have agreed on the transfer of the defender. Raum should get a contract with the cup winner from Leipzig that is valid until the end of June 2027.

The 24-year-old could become a top earner at RB, it was also said. The contracts have not yet been signed, but that should happen soon. According to the picture, Raum should already be in Leipzig this Saturday, but will not be used in the evening in the Supercup against the German champions FC Bayern. Raum, who played a very strong last season at Hoffenheim, was last also at FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund traded as newcomers.

David Raum: From second division professional to national player

In Hoffenheim, Raum had a contract until June 30, 2026. The winger only switched from Greuther Fürth to the Kraichgauers last summer and had developed into a national player there. Most recently, Raum was part of the permanent staff of national coach Hansi Flick. A transfer fee of 30 to 35 million euros is under discussion.

Angelino as a room replacement?

In addition, it is reported that Leipzig’s left-back Angelino is to switch to TSG. It should be a separate transfer. The Spaniard was initially loaned out by the Leipzig team from Manchester City in early 2020 and signed six months later. His contract with the Saxons is valid until June 30, 2025.
