A native of Augsburg is now at the helm of Bundesliga soccer club FCA: Markus Krapf has been appointed as the new president by the club’s supervisory board. He succeeds the retired Klaus Hofmann.
50-year-old Markus Krapf is the new president of FC Augsburg. Krapf was the club’s managing director from 2002 to 2006. The supervisory board, which according to the club had previously “created a comprehensive requirement profile as a basis for the search for candidates”, unanimously chose the journalist and owner of the “11er” football bar.
“ideal solution” and “strong personality”
Krapf is the “desired solution,” said FCA supervisory board chairman Thomas Müller: “It was important for us to find someone with roots in Augsburg, a strong personality and close ties to FCA.” In addition to his connection to FCA, Krapf “also has a successful professional past at FC Augsburg and combines communication skills and social skills,” added Gerhard Wiedemann, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
