Goretzka lead and joker goals
It wasn’t until the second half that the game really picked up speed. When Munich took the lead after a free-kick with a header from Goretzka, Freiburg’s urgency to attack also woke up.
Petersen managed to equalize 1-1 with a pass from SC captain Christian Günther with a direct acceptance from 14 meters just 17 seconds after being substituted on. The hosts sensed morning air. Petersen had another good try (72′). But then Munich also had its “joker moment”. Gnabry came, was right in the center after a Hernandez cross and scored to make it 2-1.
Höler chance – goal Coman
The SCF reared up again. Lucas Höler didn’t get the ball decisively to a through pass from Vincenzo Grifo (81′). In return, FCB struck ice-coldly to make it 3-1 with a solid Coman shot.
A curiosity briefly caused confusion in the final phase when Coman overslept his substitution (86th) and Munich were twelve on the field for a few seconds. It was initially unclear whether the faux pas would still have consequences under sports law. At the end of the game he didn’t change anything. In injury time, Sabitzer even made it 4-1 after a counterattack.
Bayern travel first to FC Villarreal in Spain in the Champions League on Wednesday and will host FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga next Saturday (April 9th, 2022, 3:30 p.m.). Freiburg travels to Frankfurt for Eintracht the next day.
