National soccer player Tabea Waßmuth has prematurely extended her two-year contract with VfL Wolfsburg until 2025, the leaders of the women’s soccer Bundesliga announced.
“Tabea has far exceeded the expectations we placed on her when she signed her. Her development over the past few months is impressive,” said Wolfsburg’s sporting director Ralf Kellermann.
The 25-year-old striker switched from 1899 Hoffenheim to VfL before this season. Wassmuth has scored 21 goals in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League so far. Together with Alexia Putellas from FC Barcelona, she also leads the list of top scorers in the current Champions League season with ten goals.
