Who will be in the coaching bench in Gladbach next season? Recently there has been some criticism of Eugen Polanski.
Eugen Polanski is convinced that he will continue to coach Borussia Mönchengladbach next season. After the 0-0 draw at VfL Wolfsburg, Borussia is six points ahead of the relegation place – and thus remains largely in their own hands.
Polanski said after the game: “I took the job to keep Borussia in the league. I think we are on the right track.” Polanski took over from Gerardo Seoane early in the season. In the first half of the season he initially stabilized Gladbach – but in the second half of the season Borussia only won two wins.
The 1-1 draw against FSV Mainz 05 a week ago sparked a lot of criticism. Sports director Rouven Schröder then only expressed his confidence in the coach until the end of the season. A ruthless analysis will follow in the summer.
Polanski fully expects to get through this unscathed. He said: “I’m already confident enough to say that if I do my job, I’ll be coach next year too.”
