Around a month before the start of the Handball World Cup, the Bundesliga game was canceled. The reason was a collapsed fan.

Due to a medical emergency, the handball Bundesliga duel between TBV Lemgo Lippe and bottom team 1. VfL Potsdam was canceled on Sunday. The encounter was initially interrupted in the ninth minute of the game when the score was 6:3 for Lemgo because a fan in the stands had to be treated.

Both teams were sent to the dressing room shortly afterwards and later decided not to continue the game given the circumstances. According to Lemgo’s hall spokesman, the treated fan was approachable in the hall. Nevertheless, the person was taken to a hospital.

How the encounter would be dealt with remained unclear for the time being. There was no information available early on Sunday evening regarding either a catch-up date or the specifications – a new appointment or a resumption from the point in time when the event was cancelled.
