Bundesliga: FC Bayern ahead again – Leipzig, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg win

Wolfsburg shoots Bochum

The Bayern world is fine again. The series champion, who is currently rushing from victory to victory, greets again from the top in the Bundesliga after the powerful 6: 2 (3: 1) against an unsuccessful defender of FSV Mainz 05. With 25 points, the Munich team, who have returned to champion mode, passed Union Berlin (23) in the table. However, the “iron” can counter the Bayern attack again on Sunday in the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann relied on the winning eleven of the powerful 3-0 win at FC Barcelona without the injured leaders Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller and was spot on. The playful Serge Gnabry (5th), Jamal Musiala (28th) and Sadio Mané (43rd), who converted a penalty in the margin, decided the game early on. After the break, Leon Goretzka (58′), substitute Mathys Tel (79′) and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (86′) completed the six-goal goal in front of 75,000 spectators in the Allianz Arena. The center forward had no luck with the shot until the happy ending, previously he hit the post (54th). For Mainz, captain Silvan Widmer scored with his head (45’+4′) and substitute Marcus Ingvartsen after a mistake by Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich (82′).

Thanks to a last-minute goal: VfB Stuttgart wins against FC Augsburg

Thanks to a last-minute goal by Waldemar Anton, VfB Stuttgart managed their second win of the season and collected important points in the fight against relegation. The Swabians defeated FC Augsburg 2-1 (1-1) in an entertaining game on Saturday. Defense chief Anton scored in injury time and rewarded VfB’s furious final sprint. Florian Niederlechner gave the guests the lead in the fourth minute after a mistake by the Stuttgart defense, while Serhou Guirassy equalized in the meantime (15′). The Augsburgers remained without a win in their fifth competitive game and are still in the lower middle of the table.

In the last 20 minutes, VfB increased again enormously. First, captain Wataru Endo missed two huge chances – Augsburg’s Niederlechner (69th/70th) saved both times. Then striker Guirassy missed twice (75th/76th). Luca Pfeiffer also hit the bar with his head (86′). In the first minute of added time, Anton redeemed VfB with the winning goal.

RB Leipzig climbs to the European Cup, Bayer Leverkusen slips into the relegation zone

After the gala evening against Real Madrid, RB Leipzig also delivered the Bundesliga in everyday life. Coach Marco Rose’s team won 2-0 (1-0) against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday and thus climbed to a place in the European Cup for the time being. The cup winners have never been so high this season, Leverkusen slipped to relegation place 16. Christopher Nkunku (32nd) and Timo Werner (83rd) scored the goals of the afternoon in front of 45,598 fans.

With four goals: VfL Wolfsburg shoots down VfL Bochum

With their first league win since the beginning of October, VfL Wolfsburg stopped the slight upward trend of VfL Bochum, a candidate for relegation. The hosts, who are better in every respect, won 4-0 (2-0) against weak guests on Saturday thanks to strong goal debutant Felix Nmecha. The Bochumers, who have recently improved, did little: ball losses and positional errors were mixed with unfocused passes that often found no takers.

Nmecha gave Lower Saxony the lead in the 27th minute. For the 22-year-old midfielder – and brother of attacker Lukas Nmecha – it was the first Bundesliga goal of his career. And it wasn’t his only goal: Nmecha crowned his great performance again with a header (58′). Full-back Ridle Baku scored the second goal for Lower Saxony (35th) in front of 24,037 spectators in the Volkswagen Arena. Substitute Jonas Wind scored the fourth goal for the “Wolves” (80′).
