HSV goalkeeper Heuer Fernandes reveals his great role model

Hamburger SV is one of the largest clubs in Germany. In the news ticker on t-online you will find all the important news about the “Rothosen”.
Daniel Heuer Fernandes has been under contract with HSV since 2019 – only Bakery Jatta has played for the Bundesliga promoted team longer than the goalkeeper. In an interview with “Sport Bild”, the 32-year-old revealed who he copies goalkeeping from: Manuel Neuer is a formative influence. “I watched a lot of videos of him. For example, when it comes to positioning in a game when the opponent has the ball, anticipating,” said Heuer Fernandes. Gianluigi Donnarumma also impressed him with his calmness on the line.
After six match days, Heuer Fernandes has already kept a clean sheet three times – only his role model Neuer and Dortmund’s Kobel (four times each) have started the season better. “At the moment I have a good hand,” said the HSV goalkeeper. He “just feels really good” and is happy that he can help the team.
Fernandes’ contract on the Elbe ends next summer. Does he want to stay? “Of course I can imagine my future in Hamburg,” says the 32-year-old. But at the moment his focus is “full on the season”.
Markus Gisdol is no longer the coach of Turkish first division club Kayserispor. After just eight league games without a win, the club parted ways with the former Bundesliga coach. The club is currently in second to last place in the table. As club president Nurettin Acikalin confirmed to the state news agency Anadolu Ajansi, the search for a successor has already begun.
In addition to Hamburger SV, Gisdol had previously looked after TSG Hoffenheim and 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga, among others. He also worked abroad, including at Lokomotiv Moscow and Samsunspor. His involvement with Kayserispor only began in the summer, but was unsuccessful. Former HSV professional Laszlo Benes also plays for the club.
After the 4-0 home win for the HSV men, the next Bundesliga home game is scheduled for Monday evening in the Volksparkstadion: the HSV women will host TSG Hoffenheim from 6 p.m. “A team with a lot of individual quality and the potential for the top 3 in the league,” said Hamburg coach Liese Brancao. She hopes there will be a lot of spectators in the stadium – “it will feel like we are one more player again.”
Hoffenheim is currently in 6th place with seven points, HSV is tenth in the table with five points. So far, the two teams have only met once: in 2010/11, Hamburg defeated Hoffenheim 1-0 in the DFB Cup round of 16.
