Bundesliga: Chancellor Scholz forces games behind closed doors

The pandemic continues to weigh on the world of sport. The exponential increase in cases also in Germany, with the Omicron variant which has considerably aggravated the situation, has prompted the new German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to decree that from 28 December all sporting events will be held behind closed doors.

The decision came at the end of the meeting with the Laender. The Bundesliga is currently closed for the winter break. The next match is scheduled for January 7, when Bayern Munich host Borussia Monchengladbach. Saturday 8th then the other meetings of the 18th day, with two postponements on Sunday 9th.
