‘Bullshit’: Chester Bennington’s son Tyler Lee responds to conspiracy theories about his father

Crude theories about the singer’s suicide have come up again and again in the past. Now his son reacted to one.

Tyler Lee Bennington, son of Chester Bennington, has denied theories about his father’s death in a video on TikTok. There was no evidence for this, instead his father’s suicide in 2017 was a tragedy.

“That’s the bullshit I’m not going to deal with on the site. This person is blocked, I’m a child. It is inappropriate to write or comment on my posts, or anyone’s posts, and any other posts on the subject. There is no evidence, there is no evidence for any of these theories. These are just futile attempts to create sensations and turn a real tragedy into a great story. So get a life man,” the 17-year-old says in the TikTok clip.

A user previously wrote: “Your father didn’t kill himself! […] Your father was a hero to many people. He did good in the world. And they didn’t like that.” The Linkin Park singer’s son also wrote under the video: “I will not condone this type of behavior towards myself, my family or other fans on my side. It hurts to know that there are still people in the world listening to this attention-grabbing slander.”

@thetylerbennington Replying to @thoughtprovokingwisdom I will not tolerate this kind of behavior about me, my family, or any fan on my page. It pains me to know that there are still people in the world who listen to this sttention-seeking slander. This is the only video i will post like this, for any other comments like this, I reserve the right to movk and ridicule you back before blocking you. Thank you to everyone who has left supportive and kind comments. You are truly kind people. #mentalhealthmatters #fuckdepression #makechesterproud #suicidepreventionawareness ♬ original sound – Tyler Bennington

Tyler Lee wants to draw attention to mental illness and suicidality on his channel. His father suffered from depression and was addicted. In an interview, the singer explained that he was sexually abused as a child. His widow, Tyler Lee’s mother Talinda Bennington, founded the initiative “320 changes direction‘ to destigmatize mental health issues and addiction: ‘The idea for 320 came from my personal experience and the realization that we could better serve the needs of those struggling with mental health issues and addictions. For 13 years, I watched my husband Chester struggle with depression and drug use.” In all, Chester Bennington is survived by six children, the youngest being five years old when he died.

“pizza gate”

Since Bennington’s suicide in 2017, there have been conspiracy theories surrounding his death. For example, some wanted him involved in Pizzagate. There is said to be a secret pedophile ring in the USA, to which high-ranking politicians belong and who, like Bennington in the case, had those who knew about it killed. Based on this crude theory, a man broke into a pizzeria in 2016, where he suspected the abused children were in a basement, but the pizzeria had no basement. “Pizzagate” was created during the Clinton-Trump campaign and may have been aimed at discrediting the Democratic presidential nominee.

The remaining members of Linkin Park recently announced an anniversary edition of their album METEORA and have already released two previously unreleased songs from it with vocals by Chester Bennington: “Lost” and “Fighting Myself”.
