Last year Disney+ announced a documentary series about the K-pop band BTS – “BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star”. Also a separate documentation about the member J-Hope. It is now known that “J-Hope in the Box” will be released on February 17, 2023. The documentary follows the singer during the production of his album JACK IN THE BOX and will show his performance at the Lollapalooza in Chicago.

He was the first K-pop artist to headline on stage. A documentary about the cultural pioneers from South Korea was already published in 2020. “Break the Silence” tells the story of their first world tour. The BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star series will tell the story of the band from inception to hiatus beginning in 2022.

The future of BTS

After the release of their album PROOF in June 2022, the band announced that they would be on hiatus. In July 2022, J-Hope became the first member to take advantage of this break and release his debut album. The rap-heavy, but musically varied album was well received and also deals with dark themes. As expected, it could not recreate the commercial success of a BTS album. In South Korea, however, it achieved platinum status. In December, RM followed suit with his second album INDIGO.

The band is on hiatus because the seven members have to do military service. 30-year-old Jin, the oldest member of the boy group, has already started work. Solo albums by remaining members Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook are also in the works. A reunion is planned for 2025.
